A movie I saw recently made me consider how I have trusted and surrendered my whole life to God. In Interstellar, a father planned to see a place he believes hold some answers to save the world and as he started his journey, he noticed a blanket in the passenger’s seat. He pulled the blanket only to find his daughter hiding under it. She was determined to go to this unknown place with him.

He drove all night while his daughter slept wrapped up in the blanket. That comfort and trust that she can travel with her father all night to a place she doesn’t know and still rest without any fear of the unknown. She may not know what’s on the journey but she knows her father is with her and he’s the one driving and nothing else matters.

This kind of trust is amazing and it is what our relationship with God should look like. You must first establish and believe with all your heart that God is your FATHER if you’re born again. God is your Father and a father loves, provides, protects, guides and nurtures his child. It’s no different from your Father in heaven. In fact, no one can match God in being a Daddy.

Oh, the peace of those who let God lead them in the way and the joy of those who let God be their Daddy. Nothing comes close to it.

Your destination has been revealed by the word of God. It is an expected end of goodness. You can be so sure of where you’ll land when you walk with God. Learn to relax with God. Learn to lean on and surrender to Him. Don’t think the only thing God wants to offer you is saving your soul from hell. That’s a big deal! But know that there’s so much more in Christ for you.

You can’t figure anything out by yourself so let God who sees far into the future lead. It’s okay to close your eyes and enjoy the warmth of his embrace when you go through cold and dark nights. Trust God to take you to his destination for you unscathed, nothing missing and nothing broken.

You keep him in perfect peace

whose mind is stayed on you,

because he trusts in you.

Trust in the LORD forever,

for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.”

Isaiah 26:3-4

Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD.

He is like a tree planted by water,

that sends out its roots by the stream,

and does not fear when heat comes,

for its leaves remain green,

and is not anxious in the year of drought,

for it does not cease to bear fruit.

Jeremiah 17:7-8
