There are lots of things that go wrong in the world we are in that makes it seem like we are where the battle is hottest. Even when you’re just so full of love for yourself and others, something comes along to try to upset your peace and sanity.
Many times the people you love don’t understand you. Other times you feel overwhelmed with work and actually believe you’re getting drowned under the loads and loads of things you have to do. Almost all the time you’re desperately searching for answers about who you are, why you’re here, why people hurt you and why you go through so much stress.
Then you just want a long, warm hug from your spouse, mother or best friend telling you that everything is going to be fine and that they understand what you’re going through. You just want someone to hold you while you fall into their embrace and play on repeat that they understand how you feel.
The problem with this is that you go back home, you can still perceive the smell of their cologne on your skin but nothing feels better. Your mind still goes back to all the problems, the hurt and the coldness you feel. There’s got to be someone who can touch me where no hands touch, you say to yourself.
I used to feel really overwhelmed and helpless, too, no matter what anyone tells me, until I came to an understanding of who the word of God says the Holy Spirit is to me.
He brings comfort to my soul because He is my comforter and yours too. Other people may try to calm you down but it is the warmth of God’s Spirit that envelops you and makes you see that nothing will ever get out of hands. Looking for someone who totally get you and perfectly understand how you feel? It’s the Holy Spirit.
He is your teacher and helper. What this means is that whenever (and whenever means whenever) you need help with anything, the Holy Spirit is the first person to call. When I am overwhelmed with my job and I need to find more effective ways to do things, I can rely on the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to help me reorganize my life. Why? Because He is the source of wisdom, revelation and power. Glory to God!
How has your relationship with the Holy Spirit help you navigate through difficult situations?
How can you involve the Holy Spirit more in your daily life?
Meditate on the word of God
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever. John 14:16
For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 1 Corinthians 2:11
