Everything that has turned out amazing in my life started from learning first, to know when God is speaking, then taking responsibility for the instruction by rising up to it in faith. I have seen many little things unfold into big surprises just from following the direction of God’s voice and I vowed never to let any instruction pass without acting on it because I don’t like to find out what I’ve missed. 🤷♀️
Taking small steps can be difficult when we know how God can just make things “appear.” But I prefer to think God actually makes things happen. God indeed wants us to start small and grow big (something happens in-between the here and there if you walk the length with God) instead of going from here to there in a single long stretch and missing your lessons. That could kill your imagination. It could actually make you not learn to trust God and you could even lose everything out of proper knowledge on how to handle the new level.
It’s funny how you could ask God to give you a breakthrough idea but when the big idea comes in form of a simple, unsophisticated instruction, you just quickly discard it with a wave of your hand, saying, “I’m sure that’s not what God is saying.” Well, that’s exactly what God is saying.
Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be.Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be. Job 8:7
It’s actually really sad how many people out there are stuck and saying God has not done anything for them yet. But God already has, they are the ones not responding. When you pray for a big breakthrough, God gives you a small instruction, faith makes you step out in obedience and one day you just realize your steps keep getting bigger.
Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. John 7:38
Your idea is an instruction and your breakthrough is an obedience away. You can’t play down on the smallest detail because your obedience in little things will be tested before God asks for your obedience in greater things. You can never respond to a higher calling when you refuse to see the enormity of your little assignment. And if you think God is not talking big things with you, you may need to check well to see if you’ve obeyed in little things.
Every instruction carried out in complete obedience exposes you to more. God won’t make you jump a class to bring you to a place He knows you may never be able to function in. Your obedience shows your readiness, trust, responsibility and functionality for a greater platform. So, if you’re looking for God to tell you what’s next and shoot you to the next stage, the good news is, God is absolutely willing to but you must show responsibility first.
